About

Hi, I’m Sarah! I live in Leicester in the East Middlands. Having taught yoga to adults over the last few years, I decided to extend my knowledge and learn about yoga for pre -teens and teens, developing my knowledge to support students of all ages. I am passionate in supporting young peoples in starting out on their own yoga journey, accessing the amazing benefits to the mind and body that yoga provides.

My mission is to support every young person to access the benefits of yoga and mindfulness, providing the tools to support them throughout life. It’s why we have so many resources for all ages and why I work so hard to raise awareness of the benefits of yoga.

pre-teen and teen yoga
differs from adult yoga in several key ways:

Overall, pre-teen and teen yoga is a unique and valuable experience
Helping with physical, emotional, and social development.

Physical development:
  • Pre-teens and teens are still developing physically, so their yoga practice needs to be adapted to their unique needs. This means focusing on poses that promote flexibility, strength, and balance, while avoiding poses that could put stress on their joints or muscles.
Emotional development:
  • Pre-teens and teens are also experiencing significant emotional changes, so yoga can be a helpful way for them to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotions. Yoga poses that promote relaxation and mindfulness can be particularly beneficial for this age group.
Social development:
  • Pre-teens and teens are also starting to develop their own social identities, so yoga can be a great way for them to connect with others and build community. Yoga classes for pre-teens and teens often include social activities, such as group discussions and games, to help students build relationships with each other.
Time constraints:
  • Pre-teens and teens often have busy schedules, so yoga classes for this age group are typically shorter than adult yoga classes. This allows students to fit yoga into their busy lives without feeling overwhelmed.

"Sarah did two sessions with girls at a Girlguiding event for us. Her enthusiasm shone through and was infectious for the girls. She explained everything well, paced the session accordingly and the girls had a fabulous time."
